All the Aztec weapons were unique in someway.

one of the most known Aztec weapons  was the Maquahuiti. It can be commonly compaired to a European sword. They had two different types, one handed and two handed. It was 3 to 4 inches wide and 3 to 4 feet long and it was made from wood and on the edge they put volcano stone (obsidian).

It's believed that it could cut a head off in one go. Because it was so big the Aztec people could use it as a club.

 

They also had spears called Tepoztopilli and was about 7 feet long and it was extremely sharp. They could throw it a long way to hit its victim.

Aztec's a spear throwing device called Atlatls. They even had bow and arrows.

One of the most niffty devices they had was a sling called Tematlatl which was made of fibeps from a maguey plant (laitin agave americana)it could be throw stones around 650 feet.

The Aztecs had a fair few items they used for armor they had shelds called Chimalli, a wooden sheld called Cuauchimalli, one made from maize cane called Otlachimalli and finally one decorated with motifs and made feather work called Mahuizzoh Chimalli.

 

Aztec's cotton quilted armor called Ihcahuipilli , it was two inches thick that was soaked in salt water , then dried in the shade until the salt crystalizes and hardens.

 

Some of the greater warriors had armor called Tlahuiztli that would stand out and everyone knew what there achievements they had got into in past wars. Some were so the could show off there rank. All the higher ranked warriors wore it on there

called Tuacalalatli. They even had helmets called cualalati and would protect the warrior deep down inside
